Feature Film

The Brief:

Writer and director James Westby brought us a script for a funny, quirky feature film and said, “Let’s make it!”

The Challenge:

Then Westby said, “We only have 10k to work with.”

The Solution:

By focusing on one central character who wears the same outfit every day, we streamlined the production. With a small crew, we shot on just-released 24p video cameras for a cinematic look, used existing light for veracity, and made an award winning film that still has an active life in cult circles. Entertainment Weekly calls Film Geek a “perceptively hilarious” salute to “all the obsessive video-store clerks who didn’t grow up to be Quentin Tarantino.”
